My journey as a professional makeup artist began unexpectedly, serendipitously, when I received an invitation to a costume party with a gender-bending theme.
Eager to embrace the challenge, I enlisted the assistance of my closest friend.
As she skillfully applied makeup to one half of my face, I diligently practiced the techniques on the other half.
It became apparent to both of us that the art of makeup application came naturally to me, likely influenced by my years of experience in drawing and painting.
From that pivotal moment onward, I embarked on a path as a makeup artist, initially catering to the needs of my dear friend Katrien. It didn't take long before I began capturing photographs of the diverse makeup looks I had the privilege of creating on her.
Filled with pride, I shared these images on social media, which inevitably caught the attention of eager volunteers willing to serve as my canvases, offering their faces and bodies for experimentation.
Subsequently, I found myself inundated with requests to provide makeup services for various occasions, including weddings, events, nightlife affairs, video shoots, theatrical productions, and photo sessions.
I wholeheartedly embraced the multitude of possibilities presented by the art of makeup, dedicating countless years to transforming not only myself but also those around me through the skillful use of brushes and cosmetic products.
During my formative years, I had never truly seized the opportunity to specialize in a particular field.
However, I resolved to concentrate exclusively on makeup, photography, and videography, convinced that such focused dedication would undoubtedly yield fruitful outcomes.
Many years later, I found myself traversing the vibrant cities of Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Los Angeles, and Hollywood, immersed in assignments that combined makeup artistry and photography. These ventures encompassed an array of projects, ranging from music videos and fashion shows to captivating photo shoots and the organization of classes designed to mentor aspiring makeup artists.
Whether I am working with the girl next door or collaborating with celebrities, expertly applying makeup or deftly powdering their noses for an event, my mission remains unaltered.
I strive to instill confidence and radiance in every individual, granting them a captivating appearance that accentuates their inner beauty.
In my makeup courses, I endeavor to convey techniques and knowledge to aspiring makeup artists, fostering an intuitive and inspiring learning environment.

Mijn carrière als visagist begon volledig bij toeval. Toen ik een uitnodiging ontving voor een verkleedfeest waarbij mannen zich als vrouwen moesten verkleden en vice versa, riep ik de hulp in van mijn beste vriendin.
Zij zou de ene helft van mijn gezicht opmaken, terwijl ik de technieken op de andere helft probeerde. Al snel ontdekten we dat het aanbrengen van make-up als vanzelf ging voor mij. (De jaren van tekenen en schilderen kwamen me van pas.)
Vanaf dat moment was ik de visagist voor die specifieke vriendin (Katrien). Het duurde niet lang voordat ik foto's nam van de vele make-uplooks die ik op haar mocht uitproberen. Trots plaatste ik deze op sociale media en al snel werd ik gevraagd door enthousiaste proefkonijnen om mijn make-upkwasten op hun gezicht of lichaam los te laten. Dit veranderde al snel in verzoeken om make-up te verzorgen voor bruiden, evenementen, het nachtleven, videoclips, musicals, theater en fotoshoots.
Ik was gegrepen door de vele mogelijkheden met make-up, en jarenlang greep ik elke gelegenheid aan om mezelf en iedereen om me heen te transformeren met mijn kwasten en producten.
Omdat ik als jongvolwassene nooit echt de kans had genomen om me op één specialiteit te richten, was mijn doel om me alleen te concentreren op make-up, fotografie en videografie. "Als ik me hierop concentreer... dan zou ik hier toch iets mee moeten kunnen bereiken?"
Veel jaren later bevond ik me in Amsterdam, Parijs, Rome, Los Angeles en Hollywood voor make-up- en fotografieopdrachten. Dit varieerde van videoclips en modeshows tot fotoshoots en het organiseren van cursussen waarbij ik toekomstige visagisten trainde.
Of ik nu make-up aanbreng bij de buurvrouw of bij een evenement waarbij celebrities tegenkom en hun neuzen poeder, mijn missie blijft altijd hetzelfde.
Mensen zich goed laten voelen voor elk moment en ze natuurlijk betoveren met een prachtige uitstraling.
Bij het geven van make-upcursussen probeer ik technieken en kennis op een intuïtieve en inspirerende manier over te dragen aan de make-upartiest in wording!
